Mojo To Be Presented With ‘Kraddick Award’ At Morning Show Boot Camp 34 In Chicago

THE MOUTH, JUNE 13TH 2022 –– As previously announced, Detroit’s morning radio mainstay, Mojo, has been named the 2022 recipient of Morning Show Boot Camp’s (MSBC) prestigious ‘Kraddick Award’ named in honor of the late Kidd Kraddick. Mojo is the host of IHeart Radio’s ‘Mojo In The Morning’. Having just celebrated 22 years on Detroit’s Channel 955 WKQI, the show is The Motor City’s top rated way to wake up for more than two decades and his show and ‘More Mojo’ podcast has been one the most downloaded on the IHeart Radio App. Mojo In The Morning can also be heard on 104.5 WSNX in Grand Rapids and WVKS KISS 92.5 in Toledo

“I’m beyond flattered! Thank you so much!!” said Mojo. ” Out of any award I could ever win, getting an award named after my mentor & hero Kidd Kraddick means the most to me. Kidd always has been the gold standard to me. I can never compare my show to his because I don’t even come close but my goal every show is to ask ‘would Kidd do this topic, bit or contest.’ Both back in my early days in Tucson at KRQ and when I moved to Detroit and Channel 955 I would call Kidd often. I would mute my phone so I could scream with excitement when he would talk about a break because I knew for sure that he listened. I’ve vowed I would always take any young shows calls and listen to their podcasts to give feedback because that’s what Kidd did for me!! Looking forward to Chicago!!

Traditionally, each year’s recipient is charged with selecting the following year’s honoree. Last year’s recipient, KRBE-FM Houston’s Roula and Ryan Show’s Roula, commented, “As last year’s recipients of The Kidd Kraddick Award -we were given the honor to bestow this award on the next great show. We have decided it would only be fitting to award it to “Mojo in the Morning.” Roula says, “I met Mojo 22 years ago at my first Boot Camp and have respected him and his ideas ever since then. He was one of the shows I always looked forward to seeing at Boot Camp so we could share ideas since I knew his were always winners.”

Executive Producer Eric Rowe added, “I’ve known Mojo for over 20 years. His morning show is consistently one of the best morning shows in the country. Mojo and his whole team: Spike, Shannon, Ellen, Meaghan, Mike, Rhys, Katie, and Lydia are extremely talented people and more importantly, great human beings.

The Kraddick Award will be presented during his year’s Morning Show Boot Camp 34 taking place Aug. 18 & 19 at the Swissotel Chicago
